He continued service there after the requirements were fulfilled and was eventually hired to work in the school’s extended care program. In his “spare time” he conducted research in the field of analytical chemistry and was a part of an experiment published in the Journal of Chromatography.
He graduated in 1993 with a double major in Communication Studies and Psychology. As Chris was preparing to enter medical school, the Lord intervened and called him to go in another direction, that of seminary. The year prior to his studies, he worked as a teacher in the St. Thomas Episcopal Preschool in Overland Park, KS. Then in August of 1995, he moved to St. Louis where he attended Concordia Seminary.
Chris spent a year on vicarage at First Lutheran Church in Gainesville, Florida. He graduated from seminary in 1999 and received a Masters of Divinity degree. He continued his studies the following year and completed requirements for a Masters of Sacred Theology degree on August 4, 2000. Pastor Bramich was ordained two days later on Sunday, August 6 at his home congregation in Lawrence, KS.
He was installed at Messiah Lutheran Church in Keller on August 20th where he served as Assistant Pastor for four years and Headmaster for one. During his first year at Messiah, Pastor Bramich also began teaching Latin at Messiah’s elementary school. In December of 2004, Pastor Bramich accepted the call to become the pastor of Holy Shepherd Lutheran Church in Haslet. He continues to teach Latin at Messiah Lutheran Classical Academy. Pastor Bramich resides in Fort Worth.
Christopher Bramich was born in Charleston, South Carolina on August 22, 1970 to Jim and Jeanne Bramich. He has two younger brothers, Shawn and Ryan. The Bramichs lived in New Jersey during Chris’ childhood years, where they attended Zion Lutheran Church (LCMS) in Westwood, New Jersey.
After a move to Kansas in 1983, they joined Atonement Lutheran Church (ELCA) where Chris was confirmed in 1984. After his high school graduation in 1988, Chris enrolled at the University of Kansas and began attending Immanuel Lutheran Church (LCMS) in Lawrence, KS.
He was an active member of Lutheran Student Fellowship (LSF) serving in various offices including outreach chairman, secretary-treasurer, and national representative for the region. He officially became a member of Immanuel in 1995.
During his college years Chris became interested in medicine and became certified as an Emergency Medical Technician. He volunteered in the emergency rooms of three different hospitals. He also served as a telephone and walk-in crisis counselor for four years, dealing with such issues as suicide, rape and abuse. To fulfill a requirement for a child psychology class, Chris volunteered at a local Catholic Elementary School.
