We strive to offer professional and dedicated teachers who aspire to high standards of excellence. Our teachers are required to complete an eight-hour pre-service teacher training course offered by the acclaimed Campfire USA organization. To ensure your child’s safety, all teachers at New Creations are also required to undergo thorough background checks and become certified in CPR.
Preschool Teachers
Phyllis Briggs - Director
Phyllis is our new Preschool Director here at New Creations. She comes to us from Messiah Lutheran Early Childhood Center in Keller, where she has been a teacher for the past three years. She filled in as a substitute teacher for the preschool five years before working there. She has taught the 2-yr-old class, but has experience with 3's and 4's as well. Phyllis has taught ages 2-4 in Sunday School for the past twelve years. She also has worked with VBS, pre-K and Kindergarten classes. She has been married to Terry for fourteen years and they have three wonderful children – Rachel (12), Stephen (10) and Joseph (8). She is looking forward to growing and expanding our preschool program with the growth and expansion of our church.

Rochelle Yglesias
Rochelle is making the transition this year from substitute to assistant teacher. She comes to us full of a lot of enthusiasm and optimism. Rochelle and her husband Kris are the proud parents of: Dylan, 5; Daniel, 3 and Isabella, 19 months. Last year, Rochelle was involved with Messiah Lutheran’s well-established Early Childhood Center in Keller. Previously, she also coordinated experiments and activities at Kids’ Camp for Space Center Houston. We welcome Rochelle to our staff and look forward to the energy she brings to the classroom.

Daphne Deschenes
Daphne joins New Creations from Messiah Lutheran Early Childhood Center and Classical Academy in Keller. She has worked at MLECC for the past three years where she oversees children ages 18 months to 10 years in the Extended Care program. Prior to her employment at Messiah, Daphne cared for infants and toddlers in her home for three years. She has a love for children and enjoys being a part of their growth in Christ. She has served as Messiah’s Sunday School Superintendent for the last two years. Daphne and her husband Kelly have two children of their own – Casey (10) and Carley (7), who both attend MLCA in Keller.
